I’m very interested in figurative art and images of strong, captivating women. My work is inspired by my own experiences, fears, hopes and dreams. I use ordinary images as references to transform what I see into something that I feel; something more emotionally charged, more personal.

I work in my own style and build up my paintings through different layers and patterns. Lately, my figures are in more dramatic poses with exaggerated form and painted with intensely colored tones. Along with oils, I use different types of metal leaf and have developed my own unique gilding techniques which adds to the stylized nature of my work. My paintings live in a different space, where my emotions and desires intersect with reality.

I often feel a tremendous sense of euphoric pleasure while I’m painting. I paint while listening to music I loved when I was a teenager. I play it loudly, singing along and dancing as I paint, tapping into my subconscious. When I lose myself in the act, that’s when I feel most content.
